William Young
William Young's earliest memories are of watching his father painting at an easel in their living room in Abilene, Texas, and from that memory, inspiration to create art was a constant throughout his formative years. Young's formal art training included drawing and printmaking courses at the University of Dallas, East Texas State University, and Stephen F. Austin State University. Young studied painting technique with Ancel Nunn at The Foundry in Palestine, Texas and at Morningtown Studio in the woods of East Texas and helped in the production of several lithographs.
While Young continued to create personal art, he also developed a successful career in commercial design, married, and started his own family. In 2003, Young left commercial design, purchased a home and studio on thirty acres in East Texas and dedicated himself to painting full time.
Young's most recent exhibits were held at the Tyler Museum of Art in Tyler, Texas and the Museum for East Texas Culture in Palestine, Texas.
