The Texas Art Auction

The Texas Art Auction has been a tradition in buying important art since 1996. The auction in recent history has been held each January. This October 27th marks the second auction of 2018, with anticipation of turning the auction schedule to Spring and Fall sales.

This next auction features over 340 lots of turn of the century to mid-century Texas Art. Major highlights from the sale are a Florence McClung of downtown Dallas in 1945 celebrating the engineering feat of the Triple Underpass entering Dallas, offered for sale for the first time in over 30 years; an H.O. Kelly farm scene that was part from the Martha Hyder Estate and prior to that in the Fort Worth Art Association Collection (which became the Modern); and a groundbreaking painting by Texas modernist, Seymour Fogel. The sale also features over one hundred pieces of uniquely selected pieces for first-time collectors. The auction is an afternoon/evening event that draws a crowd of 400. Do not miss this festive event which celebrates and continues to make collecting important Texas art a tradition.

The auction features a collection of over 85 paintings from the Robert Brousseau Estate. Brousseau built a collection of some of the most significant early Texas paintings over the course of 40 years; some of the most important paintings by artists: Jose Arpa, one of the largest Porfirio Salinas bluebonnets ever painted, a vibrant 1930 Harry Anthony DeYoung, a mosaic mural by Dallas artist Octavio Medellin of the history of money are just a few of the pieces from this carefully curated collection.

We are no longer taking consignments for this auction.
