ALTHA EDGE (Am. 1895-1976)

Born December 23, 1895 in Brazos County, Texas Altha Edge was a painter and consultant for the Waco Public Schools, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She wan an Art Teacher for the Waco ISD at Waco High School for several years.

Edge exhibited at the West Texas Art Exhibition the years of 1939 through 1942. She was an active member of the Associated Art Instructors of Texas, which was founded in the 1930’s. She served as the Secretary and Treasurer of from 1948 through 1950. Edge served as the associate editor for Texas Trends, a professional journal of art educators in Texas in 1960-62. She died April 22, 1976 in Brazos County. She is buried in the Bryan City Cemetery.
